Baptism is a Picture
Baptism shows others physically what God has done for you spiritually. You identify with Christ in his death and burial by going under the water, and resurrection and life when you come back out. This symbol helps others to know what Christ has done for you.
Baptism is Commanded
Baptism is a key step in obedience to Christ. While baptism doesn’t get you into heaven or give salvation, it is commanded in Scripture and follows salvation in the book of Acts. If you are a believer in Christ, Jesus commands that you follow in baptism (Matt 28:19-20).
